radio manager

Student Media/ Phoenix Radio

I was appointed as Radio Manager for Student Media Community and re-launched the Student Radio station at Coventry University Student Union. I was also appointed as the Student Community officer.

Originally, it was called Source Radio but no one knew anything about the station so my mission was to make it a big part of the Union.

Back in February, we launched it got over 100 listeners reaching 4 continents in the launch show. Got the opportunity to interview BBC Radio 1's Chris Stark to be part of the show.

While managing the radio station, I'm in charge over the whole community and I was in charge of getting people set up and direct them to the right manager. I was also had to recruit people to get involved in events e.g. photographers, videographers and reports.

In January 2020, I designed and launched an app for people to listen to our app anywhere, anytime and to improve the listening experience!

presenter

Itchen Radio & Unity 101

Itchen Radio is Itchen College's radio station and every show on a Friday is then broadcasted onto Unity 101 on a Monday.

I presented and produced at Itchen Radio for 1 year. While I was there, I also learned how to use the broadcast desk; meaning I was helping other people in their shows.

Unity 101 is a community radio station based in Southampton, England, a voluntary organisation catering to the Asian and ethnic minority communities in the area.

I got given the opportunity to be a special guest in 2 of the Sport Shows; which one of them was on Christmas Eve.

After 1 year, I was awarded Best Presenter at Itchen Radio and got to attend an award ceremony courtesy by Unity 101.
